Crypto on Christmas Eve: The Ghost of Bull Markets Past

December 24, 2025. You're probably reading this because you've checked your portfolio for the fifth time today, hoping for a Christmas miracle. Let me save you the suspense: Santa isn't bringing you a green candle this year.

The mood right now? Picture this: It's 2 AM at a party that was supposed to be epic. The music stopped hours ago. Half the people have left. The ones still here are either passed out on the couch or staring at their phones, pretending to be busy.

That's crypto on December 24th, 2025.

The Three Types of People Still Here

1. The Delusional Optimists
These are the people still tweeting "STFU AND ACCUMULATE" while their portfolio looks like a crime scene. They've convinced themselves that checking the charts every 15 minutes is "doing research." Bless their hearts.

2. The Zombie Hodlers
We're not really holding anymore - we're just stuck. Selling now would mean admitting we were wrong, and our egos can't handle that. So we'll just keep refreshing the page, waiting for... something. Anything.

3. The Masochists
We actually enjoy the pain. There's something perversely comforting about watching numbers go down while eating cold pizza at 3 AM. It's familiar. It's home.

What's Actually Happening (Not Much)

Let's be real - nothing is happening. The markets are dead. Volume is so low you could hear a pin drop in a Bitcoin mining farm. The only people still trading are bots having conversations with other bots.

The big "news" today? Some influencer got into an argument with another influencer about which dead project will come back first. Riveting stuff.

The Quora Questions Tell the Real Story

While "experts" are talking about macroeconomic conditions and institutional adoption, here's what normal people are actually asking:

"I invested $5,000 in 2021, now it's worth $800. Should I sell or wait?"
"How do I explain to my family that their 'crypto expert' cousin lost all his money?"
"Is it normal to feel physically ill when checking crypto prices?"

The answers are equally depressing:
"Cut your losses and move on."
"Just tell them you're 'in it for the technology.'"
"Yes, that's called 'being in crypto.'"

The Cold Hard Facts (No Copium Edition)

Fact 1: Most people in crypto are down money. Like, significantly down. The ones who aren't are either lying or got in before 2017.

Fact 2: The "institutional adoption" narrative has been going on since 2018. Yes, more institutions are involved. No, it hasn't made your portfolio go up.

Fact 3: The technology is better. Transactions are cheaper and faster. The user experience is less terrible. None of this matters if no one's using it.

Fact 4: We're all just guessing. Anyone who tells you they know what's going to happen is either trying to sell you something or has convinced themselves of their own delusion.

The Real Question No One's Asking

Why are we still here?

Seriously. If you're down money (and let's be honest, you probably are), and you're stressed all the time (you definitely are), and you're missing out on actual life (check your screen time)...

Why?

For me? I don't know anymore. Maybe it's the sunk cost fallacy. Maybe I'm addicted to the dopamine hits (even the negative ones). Maybe I actually believe in this stuff.

Or maybe I'm just too embarrassed to admit I was wrong.

What Now?

Here's my Christmas Eve advice, for what it's worth:

  1. Log off. Seriously. For 24 hours. Maybe 48. The charts will be there when you get back.

  2. Talk to a human. Preferably one who doesn't know what Bitcoin is. It's grounding.

  3. Reevaluate why you're here. Is it for the money? The technology? The community? The gambling addiction? Be honest with yourself.

  4. Make a plan. And not a "HODL until moon" plan. A real plan. With exit points. And risk management. And maybe some therapy.

Or ignore all this and keep doing what you're doing. It's your life. Your money. Your sanity.

Just remember: no one's coming to save you. Not Satoshi. Not the institutions. Not the next bull run.

You have to save yourself.

Merry Christmas. See you on the other side (or not).
