The market's quiet. Launchpads are not.
Project: Chronos Finance
Type: IDO on DAO Maker
Chain: Arbitrum
Claim: "Cross-margin perpetuals DEX with isolated risk vaults."
Verdict: HARD PASS. Team is pseudo-doxxed (LinkedIn profiles with 50 connections). Code is a fork of an existing perps DEX. Their "novelty" is a token-burning mechanism. Not a product, a token wrapper. Valuation is 80% hype.
Project: Aether Games
Type: IEO on BitMart
Claim: "Web3 MOBA with on-chain item skins."
Verdict:* SKEPTICAL. Gameplay footage is pre-rendered. The "on-chain" part is just ERC-1155 NFTs on Polygon—nothing new. Exchange listing is a red flag: BitMart is known for wash trading. If you're interested, wait for the token to hit public markets and buy the inevitable dip.
Project: Nexus Protocol
Type: ICO (Direct)
Chain: Native Cosmos App-Chain
Claim: "Interchain asset manager using IBC."
Verdict:* DEEP DIVE WORTHY. Team is fully doxxed, former Tendermint core devs. Working testnet. Token model ties 70% of supply to protocol revenue (real yield). High technical barrier, but fundamentals are solid. High risk, but the kind worth researching.
⚠️ The Pattern This Week:
Projects are avoiding the "ICO" label. Now it's "Community Rounds," "Node Sales," or "Genesis NFT Mints" that come with token allocations. It's the same thing with extra steps.
🔍 Due Diligence Checklist:
-
Token Release Schedule: What % unlocks at TGE (Token Generation Event)? If it's over 20%, expect a dump.
-
Vesting for Team & Investors: If they get tokens before you, you are the exit liquidity.
-
Product vs. Whitepaper: Is the mainnet live? Can you use it right now? Or is it just a concept?
My Stance:
Sitting out all launches this month. The risk/reward is skewed. Better opportunities emerge when the hype dies and the real builders keep building.
Remember:
A low FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation) is not a reason to buy. A working product with real users is.
Do your own research. Then do it again.
